What is Equine
Reiki?
|
Equine Reiki, also known as Horse Healing, is a safe, gentle
non-invasive hands-on healing therapy that balances the energy
flow throughout the body. Reiki itself is the channelling of
positive, healing energy through a qualified practitioner into the
horse. The healing energy flows into the horse through the
practitioner's hands to the areas where it is needed.
There are no needles or pressure used, just the lightest touch yet
it is a powerful, natural way of kick starting your horse's own
body to self heal. Reiki/Healing is a complimentary therapy to
treat and care for the physical, mental and emotional well being
of the horse.
Reiki works on the electromagnetic energy field around the body,
stimulating and accelerating the horse's natural healing process.
Horses are particularly responsive to Reiki as they are very
sensitive creatures.

What Can Reiki Do For My
Horse?
Equine Reiki helps balance your horse physically, mentally,
emotionally, and even spiritually. Working with the chakras to balance
their natural energy. Reiki brings clarity, peace and relaxation and
can help reduce or eliminate pain, because Reiki is an energy
balancing therapy that will never harm your horse.

What Will Happen
During A Treatment?
When I arrive I will have a discussion with yourself about your horse
and discuss any areas of concerns you have about the well being of
your horse whether physical or behavioural. I prefer it, if the owner
is present throughout the treatment, but I don’t mind working alone if
this is not possible or you are too busy.
I will then introduce myself quietly to your horse and ask permission
to perform the reiki for their greater good and benefit to all. Reiki
is given to your horse by channelling the energy through my hands. I
will place my hands mainly on the chakra points on the horse but if
there is a specific problem I will spend more time on the problem
area.
A treatment can take up to an hour. I find reiki guides me where it
needs to flow. There is no right way and wrong way when giving a reiki
treatment.
What Are The Signs
That Reiki Is Working On My Horse?
During the session you may notice the horse releasing energy. These
signs include licking and chewing, twitching muscles, sighing, yawning
or pawing the ground. Often you will also notice their eyes soften,
their lips droop and it is quite common for them to actually fall
asleep! As the energy is being moved throughout their body, you may
hear grumbling in their stomach and flatulence may occur.
What Happens After
The Reiki?
Your horse should feel relaxed and content but may also feel
energized. You may
notice that your horse drinks more water and may pass wind or more
stools than usual. This is quite normal;
Reiki has a way of detoxifying the body and getting rid of what it
does not need.
Will I Need To Book
Further Treatments?
Some horses who do not have serious problems may need only one
treatment every so often for a 'pick me up', other horses recovering
from operations, cuts, sprains or with more ongoing behavioural
problems may require a course of treatments. I may recommend a
course of 2 treatments a week for a month with a review at the end to
see how the horse has improved. But how many treatments your horse
receives is entirely up to you.
