So, what is
Reiki?
The simplest definition of the word reiki is:

life force or energy.
Reiki – pronounced ray-key was developed in Japan
by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th centuary.

The reiki system is a
simple and powerful system of energy work. It is a progress where ki
(energy) is directed through the hands for bringing balance to the
body as a whole; physically, emotionally and spiritually.
It is a hands on treatment that can help heal, calm and protect. Reiki
assists the body to correct and rebalance the life force energy within
allowing the return of wellness and generally enhancing the quality of
our experience of life. Reiki is a gentle yet profound non-invasive
therapy that works well with other alternative and orthodox medicine.
How Does Reiki
Work?

Reiki is simply a means
of transferring energy. I am attuned to channel the universal life
energy through me to you, by placing my hands upon various points of
the body. The healing energy flows into the body to the areas where it
is needed. There are no needles or pressure used, just the lightest
touch, yet it is a powerful and natural way of kick starting your own
body into self healing the natural way.
I also work with crystals during a reiki treatment which I will place
upon the 7 main chakra points I feel this naturally enhances your
reiki experience. A treatment should be a very calming and relaxing
experience. To receive reiki means to receive a reiki treatment from a
practitioner. |

Why Have A Reiki Treatment?
You may just feel you want a relaxing experience or you may have some
ailment you feel would benefit from a reiki healing treatment. But it
is my belief that we often find ourselves drawn to reiki for the
experience.
Sadly in today’s society it is full of lots of stresses and worries.
Reiki is aimed to provide a safe haven away from the world to provide
a safe and non judgemental environment where calm, stillness and
relaxation can once again be felt.
How Can Reiki
Help?
Reiki can help alleviate suffering, whether it is of a physical,
emotional, mental or spiritual nature. This means that reiki can heal.
When we speak of healing, a well physical body may be the first thing
that comes to mind. However the root meaning of the word "Heal" is the
whole (mind body and spirit) the practice of healing is that to heal
the whole; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
This statement is not a guarantee or a promise that someone will be
relieved of
any ailment whatsoever with a single or with multiple
reiki treatments. Illness happens when the mind, body and soul become
unbalanced. True wellness is reached only by returning the entire
being to harmony and balance.
We begin healing by finding our desire to be well and whole. Without
the motivation to be well and the intention to act in our own behalf
we cannot become well. The principle of reiki is that it can do no
harm and cannot be used for any harmful purpose. In most cases when
reiki is used in conjunction with other alternative treatments and
medical treatment it has an enhancing effect.
Reiki is a means to
empower us to become whole in all ways. But please note
it is
not a substitute to proper medical care or advice.

What Will Happen During
A Treatment?
When you come for a reiki/crystal treatment I will begin by welcoming
you and taking your details and a brief medical history. (this
information is held with the strictest of confidence and will never be
shared).
Then I will take you into the therapy room were I will ask you to
remove your coat, hat, shoes, glasses or watch, but remain fully
clothed. The treatment will start with you lying on your back with
your head and ankles made comfortable with a pillow and a choice of a
blanket if required.
Then I will place the relevant crystals upon your chakra points and
begin placing the exchange of healing energy from myself to you by
placing my hands upon various points of the body from head to toe.
Relaxing music will be played throughout the treatment.
The treatment is intended to be a very relaxing experience but if you
would like to talk at any point throughout the treatment or you don’t
feel comfortable, please do not feel that you need to keep quiet. It
is your experience and the
treatment is intended to be all about how
you feel throughout.
Reiki healing is different for everyone but many people will see
colours, feel really warm or cold, feel some numbness or tingling, see
lights or even feel nothing at all. The experience depends how
sensitive the person is who is receiving healing. If you do not feel
or see anything, it really doesn't matter as you will certainly still
have received the Reiki healing. People that are not that sensitive to
Reiki initially normally find that over time they begin to identify
with the energy and become more aware of it.
How Will I Feel
After A Treatment?
Everyone reacts differently, but many people feel lighter, calmer,
revitalized and deeply relaxed. You may feel very energetic or tired.
However you feel , you have begun the progress of listening to your
body.
How Many
Treatments Will I Need?
One treatment can be very therapeutic, but you may need several if
long term changes are to be made. But my answer to this question would
really be “listen to your body and it will tell you”.
