Nicola Potts Bio - Reiki Master Healer
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi my name is Nicola Potts.  I am a Usui Reiki master/healer,
crystal healer, aromatherapist
and I also make bespoke handmade crystal gemstone jewellery. I live in the beautiful and tranquil Eden district of Cumbria just outside of Penrith which overlooks the lake district with my fiancé Steve and our dog Pixie.

I work from
The Calico Centre at Plumpton, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 9PF.

This is not what I have always done but my new path. I used to work with racehorses, hunt horse, hackneys and standard breeds and led a very active life full of time keeping and not enough hours in the day to do what I would have liked to have done. But I loved every minute of it and it took me to Scotland, England, Ireland, Canada and the U.S.A.

I have always been drawn to the angels, and spiritual growth but never really had time to look into it further until my back decided it couldn't go through all the punishment I was putting it through anymore.

To be honest I had never heard of reiki until I was researching the angelic realms. But I was instantly taken with the concept of it all, I personally don't question or even try to understand how it really works. I just accept it as a gift I have learned that I can share with all.

Each time I give a reiki treatment to either a person or animal it always amazes me the response of relaxation it gives, I always work with the angels and always use the intent of good to all.

I also offer crystal healing which I will combine into a reiki treatment by placing crystals upon the chakras. Aromatherapy is another treatment I offer, I just love all the different healing properties the oils have to offer.

I love my new journey and hope to share it with everyone who is interested whether in curiosity or on a similar journey to mine. I believe everyday is a new day and full of lots of new things to learn and share. Hopefully you will find lots of different information here that may interest you.

If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact me at the Calico Centre.

Love light and angel blessing.

Wendy Hirst - Thai Massage
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I have been a massage therapist for 16 years. I've always had an interest in how the body, mind and emotions all connect together, so I decided to train in body massage.

I then went on to gain experience in several Spa facilities where I became qualified as a holistic therapist. After working in spa's I wanted to work much deeper with the physical problems that people present with.

I went on to study Transactional Analysis in Psychotherapy for 4 years, some of this training included Body psychotherapy. Studying this I started to gain a much deeper understanding of how the mind, emotions and physical body work together.

Whilst on holiday I had a Thai Massage that completely blew me away. I trained in Thai Massage in Greece and London with qualified teachers from the Sunshine Network.

Training in Thai Massage has opened the door into a much more fluid, energetic and dynamic way of working with people. It has given me confidence to work with people who have physical problems and problems in the body that stem from a deeper source.

Christine Jackson - Reflex Zone Therapy
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I returned to the Penrith area after spending time in the USA and France as a nanny to continue my education and alter my career path. I remember the feeling of pure joy and amazement at the beauty of the Lake District and how I’d just taken the area for granted through my childhood. My love of the outdoor’s continues and try to get outside and make the most of the fantastic area on a daily basis.

I attained a BA (hons) in Professional Studies: learning difficulties, which enabled me to become a support worker for adults with learning difficulties. I found this job truly rewarding and worked with and supported some fantastic inspirational people.

I left the caring field after my first daughter was born then later took part time jobs that still involved working with people but also fitted around my family. This was generally in the customer service field.

The path that has led to me becoming a reflex zone therapist is a combination of many years of personal interest in complementary therapies and my own health.

I was in a customer service job I loved at Larch Cottage Nurseries being offered different aspects of the company to work within that presented many challenges to work towards. I loved the challenges presented as well as being able to work outdoors in the most beautiful surroundings of the Romanesque gardens. The peace and tranquillity of the gardens re-ignited my spiritual side and appreciation for life itself. It was unfortunate that I had to leave this job due to prolapsed discs and arthritis of the lower spine and completely rethink what to do next.

There were a range of complementary therapies I tried in addition to the medical treatment I was receiving to help with pain management. During this time I found that reflexology had a huge impact on my quality of life and has enabled me to manage without medication.

This along with my spiritual beliefs and faith that every negative should present a positive (even if it is hard to see at times) gave me the inspiration to look for courses and learn the skills of reflexology in order to help others.

I have now completed my second year of a Bsc (hons) in complementary therapies giving me a level 5 diploma and full membership to the Association of Reflexologists in order to start offering treatments in reflex zone therapy. I will complete the third year in June 2012 in order to gain the Bsc. During the past two years I have been on the most wonderful journey of self belief while gaining new practical skills and expanding my spiritual beliefs. I have seen and heard first hand from my case study clients the difference reflexology can make to people, particularly in the stresses that are presented day to day.

I am inspired and excited at being able to use the skills I have learned to offer treatments. Today we are all faced with increasing stress though work, financial and personal issues. These can lead to a snow ball effect in our lives which, if not controlled can impact on our health. Let’s face it without our health we have nothing. Where I will never claim that reflexology can cure but my reflex zone therapy may offer relief from physical ailments and help sooth away stress, aiding recovery.

Anne Foster - Complementary Therapist
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi my name is Anne Foster from Armathwaite, and qualified 6 years ago as a complementary therapist. Before studying to become a therapist I was in the
nursing profession for 20 years plus.

Since qualifying I have practiced Aromatherapy, Indian Head, Reflexology and
Reiki and believe that massage is excellent for relaxation which in turn aids towards healing the body by freeing it from stresses of everyday life. Massage affords the mind, body and spirit time for the Self.

Massage aids circulation by warming up the body’s tissues which in turn helps to improve skin conditions and aids aches and pains. Aromatherapy is also used in this way with the use of essential oils from plants, trees, grasses and some barks also known as the life force of the plant and their parts. Essential oils are blended together with a light carrier oil to suit each client.

Aromatherapy works on the oldest part of the brain the Olfactory System which in turn affects the nervous system, so the effect of Aromatherapy massage can trigger post memories inducing a mix of emotions both physical and psychological sometimes just allowing the mind, body and spirit to let go and release. This is a great way to detox and eliminate stresses of day to day living. You can achieve this by having regular Aromatherapy or other complementary therapies.

Why not give us a ring and discuss any problems you may have and hopefully we can help you in regaining wellness.
